I have made a new news mod for phpizabi. The article/ezine was ok but however I felt it was missing a few things and it could of done a lot better. This took me a whole weekend to do. But since I re-coded most of the code anyways to fit the news module and fixed a few bugs. I will still give this away for free because Black Book did the real code so I wont make any profit off this module I helped fix.
But ya the features of this News Script include the following...
Admin Avatars - Only admins can post news and upload there own avatar to fit the title of there news or just a photo of them selves if they wanted.
Reported News - Even though it was all ready built in. I have re-linked the Re-Ported part of this scripted. I felt like that the module did not need a separate folder so I renamed it.
Same Users Block - You might of noticed on the Site Gallery or Article Module when your viewing the main source of the subject. The same users block rarely worked or never worked. Well in this new news module I have found and fixed that problem. So it works find now.
To Do List
My to do list for this module in the near future. Is to put emoticons on the add news feature. I know phpizabi comes with default ones but not quite sure how to add them on the add news part of the module. But that will be in a update later on.
My other thing for the to list I thought it might be cool to add a Add To Profile button in the index part of the news. Where people can add a fav news title to there profile and let there friends see what you have been reading and so on.
MARQUE scrolling is another thing I wan't to add but i'm not quite sure where to add it. Maybe a new comment post in the browse page or something not sure yet. But I wan't to add that feature somewhere. If you have any ideas please comment me about this.
