I just found this forum, i believe its great to have it, since the official website doesn't have one. Thanks for building it.

Here is why!!!!

I bough a themes called Last Friends a couple of months ago and now i find out that if i install the latest security patch the themes dont work anymore and if i install the themes again the patch do not work...so what should i do?
Should i have a secure site or a pretty one.

My point is that the themes creators should released updates for the latest phpizabi security holes.

Agree'ed have you inquired into weather or not there has been an update of the theme released? another thing you could do is yourself, or ask someone on the site to help you find out why its not working and fix it

Is there not any 'small print' available before you buy there themes?...
hmmm i wonder if aliciaskins provide fixes ... its an interesting point you rasied though as i was unaware that themes could cause these issues...

anyway

Take care and thanks for that news!

Hmmm ... I have not come across something like this (yet). All the patches HFP1, HFP2, and HFP3 deals with all php issues and not theme. If there ever was a tpl change it is because there was a broken link or two but not substantial. Also there was a change in HFP2 in the tpl because they implemented the is_mop function so you can delete the comments and some inkspot posts.

Then again, if a hot fix has been released and the purchased theme does not work anymore, the author should provide an update. Their responsibility should not stop when they released the mod.

If you noticed, I said "should". If there is no fine print regarding this when you bought the theme then you can press the author for a fix, however if they do have a fine print and said they will not support any updates then you are gonna be at a loss.

I agree, What good is a mod or release of something if your not going to update it as the core updates? Perhaps before buying a theme you should ask them about it that would work to, if they have no type of print or lisence agreement simply ask what happens when a new HF is added, in regards to your case, i'd be more then happy to help you fix it = )
